Moving On

Hi Bloggers 

It is me again and this is my last blog post at Yaldhurst Modle School. You might ask why? The answer it that I am moving schools for intermediat. I am going to Kirkiwood so this blog post is about how I feel about next year and what I have learnt at the time being at Yaldhurst. 

I am going to start of by saying what I learnt about here at Y.M.S. I have leant that everyone here is so nice I feel like everyone is so suportive to what you are doing, I have learnt how to be a good friend and care about other people and not myself.

I am very nervous for next year but exited I feel like that becuase I am exited for a new start and to meat new people but I am nervous becuase I have still not looked at the school yet. If you want to look at my new school here it is linked Kirkwood. Yep that is were I am going next year and I do have some of my friends coming along with me.

Summer Learning Journey Teaser Activity 1

I know it has been a while but I am back and today in class we tried the Summer Learning Journey Teaser Activity and it was a digital courling thing it is the same Teaser Activity like last year but instead of the normal online courlering there was a Nasa verstion that we could do instaed of the just normal couringing.

I found it very fun but It was very easy here are the two coulerings that I did.

They look quit wired becuase you have a chocie to coulour it the way the photo is meant to be or you can do it abstaract. I like to do it the abstaract way becuase I like to be diffearnt.

Amazing Korfball

On Wednesday we had a chance to play Korfball as a class. If you don't know what that is Korfball is a sport of a mix of Basketball, Netbal and one other sport witch I don't rember what is was. I found it really fun here is a video of the rules that is played in Korfball and some photos of my class playing it.

Did you liked them? I really liked playing Korfball and want to playing it again. Also Korfball is very easy to play and learn.

Also our couch was called Yuri, When we first started he added rule by rule to make it easy and it did.

Cybersmart Challange

What Week Is It? Maori Language Week!

We were lucky because at 12pm on Tuesday's we have our Kapa Haka session so wet set it up with our tutor, Matua Anton, and took part in this amazing movement!

Leval 4 Ohh No!!

Hello Bloggers

Just last last night the news said that all of New Zealand is going into Lockdown from 12:00 am, Auckland for 7 days and the rest of New Zealand 3 days or more. It was a big shock for the whole country becuase there was no warning about moving to leval 4. I even got shocked when they said we were moving to leval 4.

Ok well this blog post is about my thoughts on Lockdown. I hate lockdown becuase I prefore being at actial school insgtead of online school but at least when we do online school we don't make as much contact to people so it helps covid. My friends also do not like lockdown but again it is the best for us. I don't like being not able to see my friend or going to the shops. These are my thought on lockdown.

Friday The 13th

 

I Survived EPIC

Today I will be telling you about an audiobook on EPIC, If you don't know what epic is it is a reading program that we use and schoo and today I will be telling you a bit about a audiobook on EPIC.

The book is called I Survived The Joplin Tornado, 2011 it is a book from the I Survived series by Lauren Tarshis, book 11, The book is really good and it is about a boy that lives in a small town and him and his dad watch this TV show about Tornados and one day they run into the guy on the show and he offers to take them to go looking for a tornado the next day and they do. I have not gotten that deep into the book and I have not read much. But the book is really good.

I would recomend this book to 9-13 becuase it would be a bit hard to read and I don't this it would be suitable for little kids. I think if you would want to read this you would have to like adventers and problams.

Student Summit Fun

Today Thursday 24th June my class went to the Student Summit and Hornby School if you do not know what the Student Summit is it is a thing were people run workshops about reading. It was really fun and some of the works shops I went to were about Wevideo witch is a video editing thing, Upgrade your google slides and I did presenting too. There were four sessions but I only went to two beucase I had to do a presantation about Animaker two times and the other two times I went to other people's work shop. Did you like them? This was a really good experience and I have never done somthing like it before I hope I canvi go again some other year. My friends said Okay and it was really good. My fav thing I did was go to Wedeo it was my first thing I went to and I loved presenting I was a bit nervous at the start but then I was not nervous the more we got into it,

Pink Shirt Day

I know it has been a while since I have last posted but here I am in term 2 posting a blog post about Pink Shirt Day. Now if you don't know what Pink Shirt Day is it is basicley a day were people wear pink and it is a day were you should not bully people or get bullied for what you are wearing. Here is the story about how Pink Shirt Day became a thing. Well one day a boy went to school wearing pink and he got bullied for wearing a pink shirt becuase they were like oh pink is a girls couler but pink is any one can wear pink. Also this is a true story of how Pink Shirt Day became a thing. I did not wear a pink shirt day instead I just wore a pink scrunchie, pink shoes and socks but you don't have to wear a pink shirt just if it is something little it counts. 

Ok so moving on we I am going to show you a photo of a slide that I write comments about and a class photo of us in pink so here it is.

I got these photo from a slide we made in class.  Did you like? We had to hold someone in our class in the back row I am in it. It was really fun to make but it took a few go's. This was probably the best and funest class photo we have ever took in every class I have been in at school.

Camp Series - Post 3 - Day3

Camp Series - Post 1 - Day1

Today I am going to be talking about my school camp that I went to last week and this post is only 1 of 3 blog posts I will be posting about camp. You might be woundering where I went for school camp? I went to Waipara Adventure Center and I linked their website in their name.

Cybersmart Challenge #1

 This morning we have completed the Cybersmart Challange #1 from the Cybersmart Challenge Blog. It was really easy and fun. All we had to do is drag the right words into the right places and it was really good becuase I knew a hole lot about the kawa of care becuase that was what it was based on.

Splash In With Rimu

For the last two weeks we have had swimsafe instructors come to our school becuase we have a school pool to teach us swiming techniques like, Freestyle, Backstrock, breaststroke, Starfish, and jumping in. We were split into 3 groups I was in group 2. Here are some photos of what we were doing.

I have learnt how to get clothes off if you ever went on a boat and it sank (instead of clothes we had PJs  over top of our togs)  how to get of a boat safely, To do huddles to stay close with each other and you have to hold around the waste and nothing above there, wear a life jacket when you go on a boat.

The thing I will remember the most about this year's swim safe lesson is when we had our PJs on and when we got to go in the boat.

2021 Back In Bissness

 Hi, If you havent been here before I am Angel-Mey and I go to Yaldhurst Modle School. This year I am a year 6 and my class is Rimu. Here are some photos from my start of year.
